Short Bio

I am an Art Teacher!

Statement

My current art revolves around both non-representational and representational art, experimenting with texture and color. I have been using colors, textures, and techniques to create non-representational pieces, scenes from nature, current events, expressing what's in my Spirit, or expressing my personal introspection. My earlier work has been abstract and very much centered around cultural activism and expression. Many changes in the world have brought me back around to that now. Nevertheless, I have been exploring and experimenting with new materials and techniques, and I am challenging myself to create work that stretches my imagination!

As a teacher—I love the creativity of my students!! I enjoy looking at their portfolios, where I am consistently "blown away" by their talent and creativity! I am sometimes moved to tears with how ingenious their work really is. They really do inspire me in my own artwork, and we continue to create and cultivate a creative community — where we talk, live and breathe artwork!
